Costa Rican President Luis Solis visited QMUL

The Costa Rican President Luis Guillermo Solis along with a number of Ministers visited Queen Mary University of London on Wednesday May 25.

The visit comes as part of Costa Rica's strategy to attract talent from the academic sector as well as investors from biomedical British companies to join the large and already established biomedical cluster with companies such as Medtronic, St. Jude, Boston Scientific, Baxter, and Abbott.

President Solis met with Prof. Bill Spence, Vice Principal (Research), Prof. Steve Thornton, Vice Principal (Health), Prof. Mark Caulfield, Co-Director William Harvey Research Institute and Chief Scientist of Genomics England, and members of the Mata Lab. The delegation also visited QM.
